This type of tourism often includes its own exhibitions. Specialized congress bureaus, established in specific countries or cities to bid for MICE events, typically determine the locations. The marketing and bidding process is carried out long before the actual event, often years in advance. MICE tourism is known for its extensive planning and demanding clientele.
